Fran Necci, RN, MSN, OCN, FNP
Fran Necci received her B.S. in Nursing at Long Island University in Brooklyn and her M.S. in Nursing Administration and a post-master's certificate in Family Practice from Wagner College in Straten Island. She has been an oncology nurse for 34 years and is the recipient of numerous awards from national professional societies.
Fran has been involved in several research projects and was the principal investigator for a grant from the American Cancer Society to recruit and retain nurses in a community setting. She is an active presenter and educator on the topics of general cancer diagnosis and treatment and the management of various cancer complications. Fran helped spearhead the implementation of electronic medical records (EMR) at HOAB and has presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology conferences on strategies for transitioning from a paper practice to an electronic practice.
In addition to serving as the current president of the Verrazano Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Fran is an advisory board member for the American Cancer Society, Staten Eastern Division, as well as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
